Winter in Old Mill Point
Greetings from a wintery Old Mill Point!
This blog is for anyone who loves visiting OMP in the summer months, and wonders what it's like during the rest of the year. The beaches change a lot during the winter months; you may find it interesting to check in to see what's going on.
Snow came to Harwich in mid-December, but by Christmas it was mostly melted away. As we approach New Year's Eve, the weather seems unseasonably warm... hard to guess what the rest of the winter season will bring.
We've had several coastal storms that have ravaged the shoreline. Some snowfence has been pulled down and washed away by Mother Nature. The sand was dragged from under the new boardwalk put in at the Sea Way beach. The new ramp was in danger of being washed away, so it was taken out to await spring's return.
For the upcoming new year, I hope to post at least weekly pictures to help anyone interested keep up with our beaches, and the seasonal changes they undergo.
Happy New Year!
